Get Ready: Automating Onboarding Provides Smooth Execution of New Hire Activities

  

For many employees, the first few days at a new job can be intimidating. In addition to feeling the stress to impress, new employees are challenged with unfamiliar surroundings, faces and processes, which contribute to first-day jitters. General Communication, Inc. (GCI) realized they were compounding that stress and delaying employee productivity by requiring new hires to complete several hours’ worth of paperwork on their first day, as well as spending a lot of time shuffling paper between their various offices to get new employees integrated into the company. To address this problem, they replaced their manual onboarding process with Kenexa® Onboarding—a flexible, automated system that can be configured to existing workflows. By moving to an automated approach, GCI was able to streamline their onboarding process and can now demonstrate stronger new hire readiness while delivering the best induction experience for new employees.
